{"id":10568,"date":"2026-02-16T16:05:23","date_gmt":"2026-02-16T15:05:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hactebcn.org\/actualitat\/discover-the-winning-projects-of-the-starts-buen-tek-prize\/"},"modified":"2026-03-12T12:37:16","modified_gmt":"2026-03-12T11:37:16","slug":"discover-the-winning-projects-of-the-starts-buen-tek-prize","status":"publish","type":"actualitat","link":"https:\/\/www.hactebcn.org\/en\/actualitat\/discover-the-winning-projects-of-the-starts-buen-tek-prize\/","title":{"rendered":"Discover the winning projects of the S+T+ARTS Buen-TEK Prize"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>S+T+ARTS <\/strong>programme has announced the winning projects of the <strong>Buen-TEK Prize<\/strong>, a call that recognises innovative artistic initiatives rooted in traditional knowledge, indigenous wisdom and the principles of degrowth and Buen Vivir in South America.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After evaluating more than 120 applications from various countries in the region, the jury highlighted the high level of the proposals submitted and their ability to rethink technology, the economy and society from community, ecological and culturally situated practices.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Grand Prizes<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The two <strong>S+T+ARTS Buen-TEK<\/strong> Grand Prizes have been awarded to:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Inty Muenala and Yauti Muenala (Ecuador),<\/strong> for the project <em>Rishpa Tigrashpa, Ir y Volver: Hilar el pasado, presente y futuro, el arte y la vida,<\/em> a proposal that intertwines memory, territory and artistic practice as a form of transmission of living knowledge.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Voluspa Jarpa (Chile),<\/strong> for the project <em>Counter-Cartographies of Resistance: Innovation and Ancestral Memory<\/em>, which proposes a critical rereading of the history and cartographies of power from the perspective of ancestral memory and resistance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each of the award-winning projects will receive \u20ac10,000 and will be exhibited at the <strong>IMPAKT Festival 2026<\/strong> in Utrecht, as part of an international exhibition that will be part of the festival&#8217;s programme.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Distinction Awards<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The jury has also awarded two Distinction Awards, endowed with 5,000 euros each, to:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Leonel V\u00e1squez (Colombia),<\/strong> for the project <em>Cradle of wetlands<\/em>, a poetic and political reflection on aquatic ecosystems and their relations with local communities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>El Alto Aesthetics (Bolivia),<\/strong> for the project <em>El Alto Aesthethics<\/em>, which vindicates the aesthetics and cultural practices of the contemporary Andean context.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Honorable Mentions<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, the jury has awarded three Honorable Mentions to projects that have stood out for their quality and uniqueness:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Gabriela B\u00ecl\u00e1 (Brazil),<\/strong> for <em>Imaginary Atlas, Amazonia<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Jo\u00e3o Machado (Brazil),<\/strong> for <em>Interspecies Architectures with native bees<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Juan Cort\u00e9s (Colombia),<\/strong> for <em>Geography of Equinoctial Plants: Counter-Taxonomy and Relational Ecologies<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In its statement, the jury stressed that the selected projects show the diversity and current relevance of the Buen-TEK concept.
