[CLOSED] The ACTS Network promotes a new San Sebastián-Barcelona cross-residency program

Promoted by Hac Te, the UOC and the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation, the ACTS Network is launching its second pilot programme to build this national network of agents with the aim of connecting two of its nodes: San Sebastian and Barcelona. This is an open call to host a cross-residency of artistic research promoted by Hangar, Centre for Artistic Production and Research, the Centre for Contemporary Culture of Barcelona (CCCB) and Tabakalera.

With the name of RACOR, this research residency is open to artists from all creative disciplines and from any country in the world who are developing an artistic research project that, through its means, language or concept, dialogues in some way with the techno-scientific context.

RACOR wants to support an artistic research project in any of its phases that needs the contexts, networks and/or services of the three centres for its development, and that generates a space for dialogue between traditionally segregated epistemic fields. The cross-residencies will be accompanied by a research layer throughout the process with the aim of extracting shared learning during the pilot project.

The selected artist or group will receive a two-and-a-half-month cross-residency grant between Barcelona (Hangar and CCCB) and Donostia/San Sebastián (Tabakalera) with flexibility in the distribution of time in each of the cities.

Together with RACOR, the ACTS Network has recently launched its first pilot programme, GRAPA, a proposal conceptualised by the Centre for Contemporary Culture of Barcelona (CCCB) and Hangar, Centre for Artistic Production and Research, in collaboration with the UOC. The program aims to accompany and narrate processes of artistic creation that are located at the intersection of art, science, technology and society. During 2023, GRAPA accompanies the work of the artists Joana Moll and Sílvia Zayas.
