HacTe is part of these networks
The Art, Science, Technology and Society Network (ACTS) is a state-wide network for collaboration between institutions, projects, collectives and individuals from different fields and types, with common interests and objectives. HacTe has been developing the technical secretariat of the network since 2023 and is therefore a core activity of the association, redACTS is co-financed by the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation and consists of four nodes: Catalonia, the Basque Country, the Community of Madrid and the Valencian Community. HacTe is also part of the driving force of the Catalonia node, together with Hangar, the UOC and the CCCB’s mediation department, promoting meetings and debates between agents working at the ACTS intersection, the preparation of documentation and reports on the current state of the sector and recommendations for the future.
Promoted by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CONNECT), the S+T+ARTS initiative has promoted collaborative spaces for research, production and experimentation at the intersection of arts, science and technology for a decade (2016-2026), with the aim of driving innovation and contributing to social, ecological and economic challenges. HacTe has participated in the ‘S+T+ARTS in the City‘ project (2023–2024) focused on issues related to regional development and urban transformation. It has also been part of the first S+T+ARTS initiative in South America with the project ‘S+T+ARTS Buen-TEK’ (2025–2026), a transcontinental collaboration that has connected ancestral and community knowledge with artistic, scientific and technological practice and research to generate new perspectives on development and its ethical, social, political, economic and environmental implications.
HacTe is a member of the New European Bauhaus (NEB). The initiative of the President of the European Commission, Ursula Von der Leyen, aims to bring together agents from all over Europe to collaborate and develop solutions to the most pressing social challenges. The program emphasizes the importance of a culture of collaboration, creativity and innovation to achieve its goals. In this way, the NEB, connected to the European Green Deal and the ideals of sustainability and inclusion, can mean the reconsideration of the role of creativity as essential for the success of the European NEB program. In the words of the Commission itself, the Green Deal is not only an environmental and economic plan, but is part of a new cultural and social paradigm.
