+RAIN Film Fest is the first European festival for films generated with artificial intelligence (AI). This event is interested in the use of creative methodologies with AI at the service of storytelling. Until 7 April, the event opens an international call for films that use AI models in their creative processes, and that explore their narrative and technological capabilities. +RAIN Film Fest invites directors to present and discuss their work in public screenings. An international jury selects the most innovative films to be screened at Sónar+D.
Organized by Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), +RAIN Film Fest is interested in the use of creative methodologies with AI at the service of storytelling. Beyond the visual dimension, this technology poses challenges in the ways of telling stories and also stresses concepts such as creativity and imagination. +RAIN Film Fest wants to be the gateway for films that experiment with narrative language and these new technological approaches.
Along with the festival, the AI & WEB3 Creatives Summit will take place on 15 and 16 June as part of Sónar+D. A summit consisting of four sessions that will revolve around creativity and emerging technologies: Cinema & AI, Music & AI, Expanded Media and WEB3 & creativity. The aim of the sessions is to inspire, raise awareness of emerging talent that creates, researches and undertakes around these topics, as well as to discuss the relationship between creativity and emerging technologies, the ethical use of AI, authors’ rights, or the role of Web3 in the cultural and creative industries. Creative, research and start-up projects, and recently created spinoffs are presented. These sessions are intended to promote interaction between creators, professionals and companies, and to serve as a space for new relationships, initiatives, proposals and projects to emerge.
+RAIN Film Fest and AI & WEB3 Creatives Summit are part of the SÓNAR+D 2023 programme
