Hand in hand with UPCArts, we are starting the “Augmented Humanity” cycle, a program made up of four sessions open to the public that aims to analyze the ethical, social and philosophical challenges derived from technological development and its influence on the human condition.
The different meetings of the cycle will address how new technologies are transforming the way we think, create, relate and make decisions. The programme seeks to generate an interdisciplinary dialogue between the technological, humanistic and artistic fields, and to promote critical reflection on the role of technology in contemporary society.
First session: Thinking beings, decision-making machines
The first session of the series, entitled “Thinking beings, decision-making machines”, will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 11 a.m., at the Rector Gabriel Ferraté Library (UPC). The session will focus on the impact of artificial intelligence on decision-making and the implications of delegating this process to automated systems.
The following will participate:
- Eva Vidal, PhD in Telecommunications Engineering (UPC)
- Roc Albalat, designer, audiovisual producer, researcher and activist of the Estampa collective
- Pol Capdevila, lecturer in the Department of Humanities (UPF)
The round table will be moderated by Carme Fenoll, director of Social Policies and Community at the UPC.
