Together with UPCArts, we are organising the “Augmented Humanity” series, a programme made up of four sessions open to the public that aims to analyse the ethical, social and philosophical challenges arising from technological development and its influence on the human condition.

The different meetings of the cycle will address how new technologies are transforming the way we think, create, relate and make decisions. The programme seeks to generate an interdisciplinary dialogue between the technological, humanistic and artistic fields, and to promote critical reflection on the role of technology in contemporary society.

Second session: Artifice and truth: creativity versus artificial intelligence

Under the title “Artifice and truth: creativity in the face of artificial intelligence“, during this second session we will discuss the extent to which generative AI tools transform creative processes and what happens to the authorship, originality or responsibility of the resulting works.

The following will take part:

• Ramon Sangüesa, vice-dean of the UPC’s Barcelona Faculty of Informatics
• Tatiana Afanador, resident artist at Hangar and PhD in Contemporary Philosophy from the UB
• Anna Carreras, creative programmer, visual artist and telecommunications engineer

The session will be moderated by the director of HacTe Tere Badia.
