Sónar+D hosted the public presentation of the Network of Art, Science, Technology and Society (Red ACTS), an initiative promoted by HacTe together with the Open University of Catalonia (UOC) and the Daniel and Nina Carasso Foundation to promote collaboration between agents and disciplines at the national level.
The SonarAgora debate space was the setting for this presentation, where the main milestones of the project during its first year and the cartographies of the agents working at this intersection in the four geographical nodes that currently make up the network were presented: Catalonia, the Basque Country, Valencia and Madrid.
In addition, throughout Sónar+D, HacTe and the ACTS Network have been present through their stand in the ProjectArea, where it has been possible to see the result of the first mapping of agents carried out by the aforementioned nodes. It is a web visualization where, based on the datasets compiled by all the local nodes, the more than 800 agents identified in Spain are shown.
Through this map, the agents can be filtered according to the community (art, science/technology, education or society) and stratum (individual, collective, institutional or network) to which they belong. The objective of this mapping is to identify, connect and articulate the ecosystem of agents working at this intersection.
In addition to the visualization of these cartographies, the ACTS Network has also presented a sonification of these data by Sergio Lecuona, Valencian artist and doctoral student at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. It is a sound representation of the data of each node, which varies depending on the density of agents in each geographical area and the type or community to which they belong.
