The NEWART foundation inaugurates at the NEWART center in Reus AND PRAXIS, an exhibition that brings together works by more than thirty international figures linked to the development of new media art. The exhibition brings to Reus one of the main international archives dedicated to the history of new media art, linked to a generation of artists who contributed to defining telematic art, interactive art, artificial life, bioart, generative art, virtual reality or social robotics.

The exhibition is not curated. Under the slogan “Non-Curated but Worked with Love”, it is the artists themselves who have decided how they want to be represented: each one has chosen a work that condenses the essence of their practice. The pieces coexist in a large immersive environment of screens, and among the proposals you will be able to discover the first perfume in history created specifically for robots.

AND PRAXIS is also conceived as a living archive, intended to document, conserve and reactivate works threatened by technological obsolescence. The exhibition is dedicated to the memory of Vicente Matallana, one of the promoters of the project together with Paul Thomas and Jaime de los Ríos.

The day will begin at 4:30 p.m. with the symposium Preserving the Pioneers, presented by Pau Alsina (UOC), and with Homo Telematicus, a telematic performance by Paul Sermon that will connect participants from ten countries in real time.
