Together with UPCArts, we are organising the “Augmented Humanity” series, a programme made up of four sessions open to the public that aims to analyse the ethical, social and philosophical challenges arising from technological development and its influence on the human condition.

The different meetings of the cycle will address how new technologies are transforming the way we think, create, relate and make decisions. The programme seeks to generate an interdisciplinary dialogue between the technological, humanistic and artistic fields, and to promote critical reflection on the role of technology in contemporary society.

Third session: Algorithms with bias

This session focuses on biased algorithms and analyzes how technology can reproduce, and even amplify existing inequalities, especially in relation to gender. Through different expert perspectives, key questions about the social responsibility of technology, automated decision-making and the impact of AI on everyday life will be addressed.

• Thaïs Ruiz de Alda, founder and director of Digital Fems

The session will be moderated by Carme Fenoll, director of Social Policies and Community at the UPC.
