The Barcelona Supercomputing Center – Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) has presented the Creative Intelligence Lab, the first art and science laboratory directly integrated into a supercomputing center in Europe. This new structure will place creative practice and research in the context of high-performance computing, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies and will integrate artists, designers and creative technologists into scientific research teams.

HacTe is part of the alliance network of this new initiative as a strategic partner, together with local collaborators such as the CCCB and Sónar+D and other international collaborators such as Ars Electronica and TBA21 Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary. An International Advisory Board has also been set up that includes figures such as Ricard Robles (founder of Sónar), Francesca Bria (expert in digital policies), Mónica Bello (Platform Dalí), Nils Gilman (Berggruen Institute) and the artist Enrique Rosas.

The project formalizes and expands a trajectory of thirteen years of interdisciplinary work carried out by the BSC Data Analytics and Visualization group, led by Fernando Cucchietti, with whom HacTe has recently co-organized the Buen Vivir en Disputa meetings.
