Three residencies, three regions, and three ways to explore the relationship between art, science, technology, and ancestral knowledge. Videos are now available that offer a glimpse into the residencies supported by HacTe in Colombia, Ecuador, and Chile as part of S+T+ARTS Buen-TEK, a transatlantic initiative that has addressed social and environmental challenges through collaboration and hybrid experimentation.
Developed between 2025 and 2026, Buen-TEK has brought together artistic, scientific, technological, and community-based research and practice to generate new perspectives on various issues affecting different regions of South America. Through collaborative, transdisciplinary, and community-based processes, the project has fostered critical reflection on technological development and its ethical, social, political, economic, and environmental implications.
The videos explore the projects carried out by Aliens Institute at Platohedro (Medellín, Colombia), Lorena Salas at CICTA (La Chimba, Ecuador), and Kinkinella at LiquenLab (Punta Arenas, Chile), offering a glimpse into the processes of research, exchange, and creation that unfolded in each context. The pieces demonstrate how artistic practice can become a tool for interpreting the territory, strengthening dialogue with communities, and envisioning more sustainable futures.
